This year I celebrated my 50th Birthday - in Paris!

Paris is favourite city in the whole world (so far) and once again I found
it to be magical when we were there for my birthday in August. I just love
everything about Paris – the people, the food, the sights, the shops, the
fashions, the cafés, the streets, the river (Siene), the churches… If I had
to ever live anywhere else in the world other than here in our great South
West of WA I would pick Paris – just not sure my bank balance would survive.
And I guess I would have to do something about my French – which is
non-existent by the way and the very few words I do try are so badly
pronounced that the French just give up and after a bit of a chuckle
promptly change to speaking English which I have found that they are a lot
better at than trying to understand my attempts at French!

It has often been said to me that the French are rude – but I have never
found this. I do think that they like to see us foreigners stumble and
stutter with their beautiful language and as above once you do this (and
they can laugh at you!) they are absolutely charming – as a rule.

Emma Holm

Office Manager / Consultant

I have been in the travel industry for 4 years after studying Tourism at TAFE after finishing year 12. Being a travel consultant has been a wonderful experience, I’ve always been fascinated by the world we live in and its enjoyable sending people to some of those beautiful destinations.  I’ve also been very fortunate to experience parts of the world I didn’t think I’d get a chance to by being at Jetset Bunbury. Mid 2011, I was promoted to Office Manager and am enjoying the extra responsibilities and helping the office run smoothly.

Destinations I have visited include;

  • Europe – Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Prague
  • USA – Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco and New York City
  • Asia – Singapore, Bali, Phuket, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Penang and Kota Kinabalu
  • Dubai
  • Australia – Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Broome
  • New Zealand – Auckland
  • Cruises – P&O Oriana Adelaide – Fremantle and Superstar Virgo Straits of Malacca

There are so many more parts of the world I’d like to travel to and it’s hard to put my finger on it but ultimately I would love to explore Southern and Eastern parts of Africa!

I have been working at Jetset Bunbury for nearly 4 years now and am STILL enjoying every minute of it. I love planning holidays for people and getting excited for them. Except my list of “things to do/places to see” keeps growing with every person I speak to!

Born and bred in Pinjarra, from the moment I left high school my gypsy blood took over. For 2 years I travelled around Australia in a mustard Kombi, absorbing the sights and lifestyles of pretty much every corner of our fascinating country. I always said I’d like to see my own backyard before I see anybody else’s…and I have. We live in one of the luckiest, most beautiful countries in the world, and I’m proud to say that I have experienced a lot of it.

Now though, I’m keen to spread my wings further. As a long term goal, I am aiming for the Opening Ceremony of the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. Imagine the party!! While there, I would love to do the Inca Trail & Galapagos Islands. Plus, if I can save enough…. add on Antarctica

Consultant

  • Africa
  • Broome
  • Mauritius

I have lived in Australia for 7 years and during this time have travelled to Sydney, Brisbane, Broome and explored the West Coast, including the beautiful Ningaloo Reef. Many years before settling here, my husband and I spent 6 months on a self drive tour between Sydney and Cairns.

Prior to immigrating , I was brought up in Africa where I was fortunate to have travelled to a variety of countries including Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique and Kenya. My husband and I ran photographic safaris in the Okavango Delta , Botswana for a number of years where we experienced the incredible sounds and sights of nature at its finest – from the prolific bird life, to the big five. Over many years, we travelled to other countries enjoying the landscape , colour and  magnetic pull that is Africa.

I have also been fortunate to have travelled through New Zealand (both north and south islands) , a country that can only be described as breathtaking.   An experience not to be forgotten was a journey from Singapore through Malaysia and into Thailand. This cultural experience took us to stunning islands like Koh Samui to Chiang Rai in northern Thailand where we enjoyed trekking in the mountains.

Mauritius cannot be forgotten as a beautiful and relaxing destination and of course England and Scotland was so interesting with its history and architecture.

At home in Bunbury I enjoy a healthy lifestyle with my family where we are members of the running club and also enjoy bush walks and the beautiful beaches in the South West over the summer months .

Senior Full Time Consultant

I've recently moved over from Sydney, and have been working at Jetset Bunbury for the last few months. The staff here have made me feel very welcomed, and I’m enjoying being part of this great office. I’m really excited to be going on my first trip since working with this agency, to Mauritius!

I’ve been in the travel industry for 13 years and I enjoy all aspects of travel, I am happy to rough it in a tent or stay in a 5 star resort! However my passion lies with adventure  travel, eco-tourism, and places off the beaten track. Of all my travel experiences, I had to say my most memorable was back packing extensively through Mexico and down to Costa Rica.

 Other destinations include -

  • USA – Los Angeles, San Diego, Baha California, Hawaii
  • UK / Europe – England, France, Norway, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland & Italy
  • Central America –  Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua & Costa Rica
  • Asia – Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan
  • South Pacific – New Caledonia, Fiji, The Cook Islands, Samoa, & Tahiti
  • New Zealand – North & South Island
  • Australia – NSW, Melbourne, Queensland (Gold Coast, Brisbane, Cairns), Darwin, Uluru & Perth

I’ve also lived and worked in the UK on three separate occasions. My roles were mainly corporate, but I also worked for a major cruise line. This was a fantastic experience, which gave me the opportunity to travel on the other side of the world, experience different cultures, and make lifelong friendships.

Apart from exploring more of Western Australia, I’m travelling over to Argentina next year for a Wedding. Then up to Iguazu to see the incredible falls, and finishing up in Brasil. I can’t wait to experience the Samba, and see the beautiful beaches!
